5G factory

5G factories are advanced factories that fully utilize the integration of next-generation information and communication technologies represented by 5G, create new industrial internet infrastructure, build or renovate production lines, workshops, factories, and other production sites, and form extensive connections between production units, deep integration of information (IT) operations (OT), full utilization of data elements, and efficient empowerment of innovative applications.

In September 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guidelines for the Construction of 5G Fully Connected Factories", proposing that during the "14th Five Year Plan" period, it will mainly focus on manufacturing industries such as raw materials, equipment, consumer goods, electronics, as well as key industries such as mining, ports, and power. It will promote the construction of 5G fully connected factories by tens of thousands of enterprises, build 1000 classified and distinctive factories, create 100 benchmark factories, and promote the in-depth development of 5G integrated applications.

In recent years, Wujiang has deeply implemented the deployment requirements of the Ministry and Province on the "5G+Industrial Internet" integrated application pilot zone, actively guided enterprises to carry out 5G factory construction, helped solve the pain points of enterprise hardware networking and intelligence processes, promoted the construction of 5G industrial Internet that is suitable for the future development of enterprises, accelerated enterprise transformation and upgrading, and continuously improved the core competitiveness and development level of enterprises.
